SUB5 SURPRISE 😳 🙌🏻 That was one of the toughest races I have ever done, with 31 degrees average temperature it was certainly going to be tight to get that time I wanted….and I managed it with 6 seconds to spare 💪🏻 The swim was beautiful! Calm, clear and no waves 🏊 Bike was tough with head winds for the majority of the route and being baked by the sun on the climb, I did loose some time to collect my carb bottle after a pot hole but still averaged 22mph over the whole course ⛰️ 🚲 The red transition carpet was like running on lava! The run was BRUTAL! My legs felt rock hard but held a good pace for 2 laps, the final lap hit me hard and I had to stop for a few seconds to gather my thoughts before progressing! I knew it would be touch and go for that sub5…I really didn’t think I had it when I crossed that line 🏃🏻 I’m so extremely grateful for all the support on course from all Welsh clubs, it shows the amazing community we have in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 And the icing on the cake was seeing my dad finish his first ever triathlon 🧁 👏🏼 Now let’s party! 🎉
