Hoernum (Hörnum) is the southern most place of the beautiful island Sylt. White beaches, swimming, sailing and windsurfing awaits you. From Hörnum you can take the ferry to the neighbour island AMRUM to spend a a few hours there and explore the nature reserve with birds that you will only find there. Or take a boat trip to watch the seals with their young ones. The trip takes 1,5 hours. The bus no. 2 ends at the harbour (also the beginning of the promenade) and you can buy the tickets for the boat trip at a smal booth. Bus tickets are always available online or at the bus driver. Also, at the coastline of Hörnum it is the only hours and starts right at the beginning of the promenade where the bus Nb. lace where oysters are being harvested. And also a specialty, the Hörnum mussels. a must to try them at the "Hörnumer Muschel Bistro". Very delicious and served in different ways. A very authentic little bistro, it's great. If you like seafood, you'll love them.
