I had my VO₂ and lactate assessment at Endurance Peak on Friday — something I’ve been planning for a while because I genuinely felt fitter than my last test back in June. This type of test is the only way to know the truth, and I wanted to bring you along for the full experience. During the warmup on the treadmill I recorded a voiceover explaining the full procedure: • 4 minutes running • Small blood sample for lactate • Back on the treadmill +1km/h • Repeat until you cross LT2 (threshold) • Then the belt increases every minute until you tap out I also mentioned that I paid for this test with my own money — this video isn’t sponsored — and I want to give a massive thank you to Stuart and Josh for allowing me to film, and a huge thank you to my good friend Wayne for being the cameraman while I suffered on the treadmill! Halfway through the test, while I was having a blood sample taken, I told Stuart that I thought the next 4-minute step would be my LT2. To my surprise, he told me I hadn’t even hit my LT1 / top of Zone 2 yet! Clearly fitness has improved more than I expected. I’m now waiting for the full PDF report, which I’ll use in a separate video where I show you exactly how to input these values into COROS and Garmin watches. But for now, one thing is clear: 👉 I have a new Threshold Heart Rate of 163bpm. This means I can now train much more accurately using the Norwegian Singles Approach. On sub-threshold days I can run slightly faster without going over my limit. And on easy days, using 70–80% of threshold HR, I can run confidently — even on undulating ground — without worrying I’ll spike too high. Huge thanks again to the team for an amazing experience and for helping me get the data I need to keep improving. And thank you for watching — if you enjoy these training and testing breakdowns, don’t forget to follow & subscribe to the channel for future updates!
