Here's how chipseal / tar & chip coating in a rural driveway looks and goes down. UPDATE - I would not recommend these contractors. We still like chipseal as a driveway topping, but could no longer recommend the people who did the work in our driveway. Here's why:    • Chipseal driveway SCAM!   We had an opportunity to get some leftover chip seal in our driveway at a good cost, so we did it. I'll be able to keep you posted on how it holds up over time, how it packs in, how it handles heavy loads, and how we like it. In the video, I show the process of prepping the base for the chipseal (removing the top gravel), rolling that base flat, applying the hot tar, applying the thin layer of small limestone chips, and rolling the chips into the tar layer. You can see the process from start to finish, and the end results/final product. Is chipseal one word or two? chip seal. Cheaper than asphalt.
