Obazagbon indigenes appeal for protection over incessant attack

Odionwere, elders and youth of Obazagbon in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State have appealed to relevant authorities, especially the State Government and the various security agencies to save them from the hands of gunmen who invade the community at night, shooting sporadically, bugling shops and carting away valuables. Efosa Uwangue reports quotes the villagers as saying they now live in fear. Apprehension enveloped the community as shell of used bullets were visible in all corners of the community while most of the shops bugled were also observed. The Odionwere said most time in the middle of the night they will hear sporadic shooting and loud noise from the perpetrators threatening to kill any one that come out to challenge them. He said the situation is given them sleepless night hence the need to appeal for assistant from the state government and various security agencies. Some elders and youths of obazagbon while corroborating the comment of the odionwere said most worrisome is that there is no community crisis with any of their neighbours that will warrant such an hideous crime against a peaceful community like Obazagbon. At the time of this report, delegates from obazagbon are being sent to the governor’s office and the various security agencies to register their complaint.
