Exploring Koh Kret | Ferry Ride to Bangkok’s Hidden Island In today’s vlog, I take a peaceful escape from the busy streets of Bangkok and head to the charming island of Koh Kret. Just a short trip from the city, this hidden gem sits along the Chao Phraya River and offers a completely different vibe from central Bangkok. My journey starts with a train ride on the BTS to the Pink line and since I didn't want to walk once, I got off the Pink Line; I took a grab pick for a quick ferry ride across the river, giving a beautiful view of the water and the surrounding community before arriving on the island. Once on Koh Kret, I explored its peaceful walkways, local markets, traditional pottery shops, and delicious street food stalls that make this destination a favorite weekend escape for locals. Koh Kret is known for its rich cultural heritage, particularly its Mon community and handmade pottery traditions that have been passed down for generations. Walking around the island feels like stepping into a slower, more traditional side of Thailand. If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip from Bangkok filled with culture, local food, and scenic views, Koh Kret is definitely worth visiting. How to Get to Koh Kret Getting to Koh Kret is surprisingly easy from Bangkok: 1️⃣ Take the BTS Skytrain to Mo Chit BTS Station or travel toward the Nonthaburi area. 2️⃣ From there, take a taxi or Grab to Wat Sanam Nuea Pier. 3️⃣ At the pier, hop on the short ferry ride across the river to Ko Kret. The ferry ride only takes a few minutes and costs just a few baht. Once you arrive, the island is mostly pedestrian-friendly, so you can explore by walking, renting a bicycle, or hopping on a small motorbike taxi. Thank you for joining me as I explore life, culture, and hidden destinations in Thailand. 🌿 Let me know in the comments: Would you visit Koh Kret on your next trip to Bangkok?
