Recurrent pregnancy loss is a frustrating experience and complicated diagnosis. There are many potential causes and a lot that is still unknown or "unexplained" In this interview, which took place on Instagram in December 2020, Dr. Winifred Mak gives and overview of the causes, diagnostic workup, and treatments of RPL. Dr. Mak, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor at UT Health Science San Antonio as well as Associate Professor at Dell Medical School, UT Austin and a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist with a special interest in RPL. She is the director of the Early Pregnancy Loss program at UT Health Austin. Her research focuses on uncovering new causes for unexplained pregnancy loss.
