Arabian Nights is an Amiga exclusive platformer, released by Krisalis in 1993. In my original guide I left out quite a lot of game secrets, so here is an updated guide, with a lot more stuff included. If you want to see a review, check out my original review video for this game. 👱🏻 If you enjoy my content, please support me on Patreon 👍👍 / lemontubeamiga Special Thanks to my Patreons: ⭐ Bloxyman22 ❇️ Eric Johnson ❇️ Predseda Production Notes: =============== Captured: 11th August 2017 (later levels) , and 18th December 2017 (level 1 and 2) Recorded Resolution: 600 x 800 at 50fps Narrated: 16th Sept 2018, and 4th October 2018 Edited: 8th January 2018 - 30th Sept 2020 Uploaded: 2nd October 2020 I got the idea for this video after a fan of the series contacted me with new information about the game. We then played this game in August 2017, in the Lemon Amiga games competition - where I got to put some of those tips to good use. I came second in the competition, and only failed to get the top score before I didnt jump over the final gap in the last room before the final boss. I set the recorder rolling at some point in the Water level, so some parts of this guide were recorded during my best competition run. You can see the point where I was supposed to jump - I pulled up and left but he just fell into the gap. A few weeks later I recorded level 1 and level 2 , and also I recorded the minecart run, to see which method gives the biggest score. Looking at the first review of the game, you might notice quite a lot of extra work went in to it - with popup graphics, magazines, profiles, trivia and all the stuff I used to put into these reviews. Plus it has the scores in there too. For this one I just wanted to do a better job with the play guide aspect, so all the trivia and stuff you can find in the original video. This was recorded in 2018 as the first game in the continuation of series 5. I wanted to move away from the more formal tone of the reviews, so for this one I experimented with the ASMR fad that was doing the rounds. You can hear I am quite quiet and almost whispering at some point, but this was supposed to be a more relaxed approach, just like the original 'fireside chats' when this channel launched. This is the only video where I did the narration in this way, in this half of the series. Danscore: I owned this title back in the day. The game is still fun to play, and seems to get more interesting as it goes along. The music also becomes better, but all of the music is quite memorable. Gameplay is smooth, and controls are super responsive - with a nice long jump. Graphics are shaded and look nice, although too much use of blue and brown on some levels makes then look less spectacular than other games in this genre. There is a huge inventory system, which is hardly ever used, and there are hidden magic lamps, which arent used for anything outside of extra score. The length of the game is good, but rushing through level 2 can be problematic when all the player want to do is progress as quickly as possible. Repeating the same flying section twice is also lazy, but I love the minecart section. So I'd give this 7.5, a very good game but let down by a few niggley factors. The 'CD32' version is shovelware, and identical to the 880k disk version.
