Hi friends 👋 I hope everyone is doing good—it's been a while since I've posted just a "pure noise" to the channel, so I wanted to try an Orange Noise. What is an orange noise, you ask? Well, coloured noises are named due to the parallels they share with light. So white noise, for example, is related to white light in that it has equal power across all frequencies. And just like with white light, when you put it through a spectrum, you can pull out all the colours it contains—aka a rainbow. And just like with noise, as you play around with the equalizer on a white noise, you can also "extract" different coloured noises. Back to the rainbow, orange light in the spectrum is very close to red light. So extending that metaphor to noises, orange noise is actually closely related to red noise (aka brown noise) which means, the 2 are going to sound very similar, with brown being deeper. It's important to note that asides from white noise, pink noise and brown/red noise, the actual definition is kinda open to interpretation. So there is no "true" orange noise — ultimately whatever you like to listen to and you find relaxing and works for your brain and mind. For this noise, I layered multiple "orange noise" on top of one another and then played around with the equalizer. When I say layered, I just mean that I add multiple of the same noise on top of another thereby helping smooth the noise. All in all, as I mentioned, I think that what it all boils down to with any noise and frequency is people find what they enjoy and works well for their brain and even minor or subtle variations can have different impacts on your mind when it comes to relaxation. I hope everyone enjoys this one and let me know if you do in the comments! -Otto
