Public Transit in Japan | Beppu to Mt. Aso In this video, I take you on public transit in Japan. I left the town of Beppu, Kyushu and headed to Mt. Aso using only public transit. In these more rural areas, public transit still works but you need to be very careful of the frequency and timetables of the trains. I was blown away by the varying terrain. This was a train car I had to myself. It was an older diesel engine and had wooden engraving for the cup holder. It was really unique and like stepping back in time. As the elevation rose, we went into deeper and deeper forests. The public bus to Mt. Aso crater was very interesting as well. The views were golden and barren and a sight to behold.
