The latest weekly official figures for coronavirus deaths outside hospitals show a massive jump in the number of fatalities in care homes. That is more than four times the figure from the previous week. The Office for National Statistics figures also show that fatalities involving Covid-19 in England and Wales were more than forty per cent higher than the government's daily figures which only list hospital deaths.
