Load Test Tuesday 5-29 (Genset, SD60I, C40-8, AC4400CW & SD70MAC)

On Tuesday 5-29 I headed up on Ben's bridge like normal. I presumed it would be a normal visit to the bridge. I started to film a CSX Genset sitting out in the sun. To my surprise, while filming, they started a load test. So I continued filming as the Genset was notched up to run 8. Delighted at the nice occurrence. I stayed around filming other movements & such. While doing so, I got lucky with another load test. This one with CSX SD60I 8774, delighted again I sat happy at the end of the bridge. There I watched a big thunder storm roll by, even managed to film a lightning bolt. I was broken away from pondering on the guardrail by a big stack of smoke. I ran over to the geyser of sound to discover GE C40-8 7631 being load tested. I actually filmed 12 minutes of video of the GE roaring. After 20 minutes they finally stopped the load test. But I didn't have to wait long for another. By the shop, the mechanics fired up GE AC4400CW 593 for it's load test. The GE was so loud it made my ears ring. Soon after that, the yard crew brought out SD70MAC 4821. And after fiddling around with it, the yard crew notched that up to test out there repairs. Satisfied with all that I saw, I left soon afterwards with a big smile on my face. Enjoy the video
