In this example I explain the details of using an Ethernet network connected to a WiFi AP that is connected to WiFi nodes. The Ethernet network is a set of nodes with CsmaNetDevice attached to every node, and those devices are attached to a single CsmaChannel, making them on the same broadcast domain. One of these nodes has a PointToPointNetDevice for a connection to the WiFi AP of another network (i.e. the WiFi network), so the AP also has a PointToPointNetDevice as well. The WiFi nodes have WifiNetDevice attached to each of them. WifiNetDevice uses separate classes to implement PHY & MAC. PHY is implemented in YansWifiPhy, a subclass of WifiPhy. MAC is implemented by StaWifiMac and ApWifiMac, both are subclasses of WifiMac. All WiFi nodes share a single Channel object, YansWifiChannel. WiFi nodes must have a mobility model because the simulator needs to calculate the received signal. Without a mobility model, you will get a run-time error.
