In this video, we dive into exam reliability, a key concept to help you create fair and consistent assessments. Reliability measures an exam’s consistency and dependability—essentially asking, “If students took this exam again, would the results be similar?” We discuss Kronbach’s alpha coefficient, a number between 0 and 1 that quantifies reliability. Higher numbers mean better consistency. Key ranges: 🔹 0.90–1.0: Excellent reliability (gold standard) 🔹 0.80–0.89: Good reliability 🔹 0.70–0.79: Acceptable reliability 🔹 Below 0.70: Needs improvement You’ll also learn why subcategories may have lower reliability than the total test, and how to interpret these numbers to improve your future questions.
