Just 30 minutes away, this peaceful old town felt calmer and more spacious compared to other ancient towns we’ve visited in China. From traditional streets, local food stalls, cozy food courts, and hidden garden corners to narrow alleyways and scenic pathways, this place completely surprised us. Even with light rain and cool weather, the atmosphere only added to the charm. If you're planning a Chongqing travel itinerary, this ancient town is absolutely worth adding to your list. Later in the evening, we headed back to the city and caught the magical lights of Hongya Cave, walked across the bridge for stunning night views, and ended our trip at Raffles City Chongqing. The skyline, glowing buildings, and riverside views showed us a completely different side of this mega mountain city at night. After 4 days in Chongqing, we’ve barely scratched the surface — this city is massive, vibrant, and full of surprises.
