The key part of linking new printing machines to the server database installing the software application that brings them to life. In large deployments, it is almost impossible to do this task manually. That’s why MyQ came up with automated printer discovery, to help IT specialists out and give them complete control over the installation process. It all begins with the server, where configuration profiles are created. These profiles are set according to chosen criteria, with the most important of them being the installation of MyQ’s Embedded Terminal. It is possible to create various profiles with variable settings for different types of devices. Once printer discovery has started, the system will automatically recognize all printing devices in the network, analyze them and separate into different groups, where they are set up according to the specific configuration profile and then ready to use. The whole process can run in the background and can check the network in regular intervals, e.g. every hour, for any new machines. This convenient function can also be used for updating the fleet with new devices, or when IT needs to run a settings update.
