Pie in the Sky | A Few Good Pie Places | PBS Food

Watch the show August 25 on PBS: http://to.pbs.org/1DIA4jy Pie In The Sky is a wonderful bakery, where we spent a cold and windy Friday in January 2015 with the shop’s owner Jeste Burton as she prepped, baked and waited on a steady stream of customers. Although she doesn’t make as many pies as the previous owner of the shop did, Jeste makes unusual small ones, and she let us watch while she prepared and baked some excellent Blueberry-Apricot-Malbec Pies. Bakeries are popular places. They smell great. They are full of wonderful things to eat, from crusty breads to gooey and sweet treats. And they often become neighborhood meeting places, where bakers work hard and where people often leave with good feelings as well as fresh baked goods.
