(Originally recorded on Dec. 14, 2021) Equity, Environment, and Economy. People, Planet, and Prosperity. Racial, Environmental, and Social Justice. We have all heard about this three legged stool of Sustainability and never has it been more apparent – that all three legs are falling down. All three are undergoing a current crisis. All three pose a massive threat that disproportionately affects populations unjustly. We need to address and respond to these threats simultaneously with a road to recovery, prevention, and ultimately resilience by connecting the dots from people to planet. How are the architecture, design, and sustainable professions in Baltimore and across the country addressing these complex challenges? How can education environments be enhanced for better learning outcomes? How does the development of the pipeline impact diversity within the profession? Speakers: Lisa M. Ferretto, AIA, LEED, WELL, Eco-Districts AP, Director of Sustainability, Hord Coplan Macht Sustainability Commissioner, Baltimore City Commission on Sustainability Melanie Ray, AIA, LEED, NOMA, Fitwel Amb., Associate, Hord Coplan Macht Vice President, Bmore NOMA Moderator: Kenneth Martin, AIA, NOMAC, VA NOMA President, Founding Principal OBSIDIAN Group Brought to you by the AIA Northern Virginia Committee on Architecture for Education, AIA Virginia Committee on the Environment and Virginia National Organization of Minority Architects
