Jason Wetzler is an agricultural leadership sophomore from Portland, Ore. He strives to recognize social issues and address the needs of others through work in nonprofits by advocating for solutions through public speaking. He aspires to work internationally, helping developing countries become self-sustainable and food secure. In his talk, Wetzler discusses the impact each individual can have in their own community. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
