My winter project has been to place an FPV and APM2.5 autopilot system in a Penguin FPV airplane. I am anxious to try some long distance flying. The Finwing Penguin from ReadyMadeRC is specifically designed for FPV. It has lots of interior space, which I need to set up my 3DR Autopilot. Also, all of my FPV equipment will be safe inside the cockpit. I ordered it with the more powerful 2815 motor and 60 amp esc along with the stronger canopy. I finally have the Ground Station completed. The Ground Station can be used with or without the Mission Planner running, depending on what equipment is on the aircraft. I only have FPV w/ OSD on my quadcopter right now, so the laptop is not used. The laptop computer is set up with the Mission Planner interface for the APM. When the APM2.5 is installed in the aircraft, it will be fully autonomous, including takeoff and landing capabilities and real-time flight programming. The monitor display and HeadPlay systems have OSD in the FPV transmission signal. There are two 900Mhz A/V RX for the FPV system's EagleEyes Diversity system; this selects the best reception of the two based on the RSSI of each signal and switches seamlessly. Both RXs have the 17Mhz SAW filter modification which increases reception by 3dbi over the original design.
