Cedar Ridge men’s basketball’s Jack Kelsey & James Faubert discuss overtime win over J.F. Webb

While the season is over for the Cedar Ridge men's basketball team, they did close the season strong. During a draining final week to the regular season, the Red Wolves had a four-game winning streak. It was the longest winning streak for Cedar Ridge basketball since the 2015-2016 season. The most surprising win of all came on February 12 when the Red Wolves upset J.F. Webb 48-44 in Hillsborough. Senior Jack Kelsey hit a shot from the middle of the lane with five seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. Kelsey finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots as the Red Wolves defeated the Warriors for the first time since 2016, when they were rivals in the Big 8 Conference. Junior James Faubert led the Red Wolves with 13 points and five rebounds. Cedar Ridge closed the regular season playing six games in eight days. On February 10, Cedar Ridge defeated Durham School of the Arts 50-36 at Red Wolves Gymnasium. A.J. Seymore led the Red Wolves with 12 points. Faubert finished with ten points and six rebounds. The long stretch started with a win over Carrboro 59-45. Senior Tripp Beasley finished with 16 points. Seymore finished with a double-double of 12 points and ten rebounds. Faubert finished with eleven points.
