This video shows my tablet based navigation set up on my Triumph Scrambler 1200. Having tired of being tied to the single navigation environment of a purpose built Sat Nav, the tablet is versatile and allows you to choose from any available navigation apps. The device works independently of my phone and can act as a back up device if that gets lost, stolen or damaged. The Samsung Galaxy Active Tab 3 64GB is inexpensive to buy pre-used, is waterproof, dust-proof etc. RAM supply the hardware to mount it on the bike. This is a much more economical set up than say a Carpe Iter or Thork Racing DMD device. Those are higher spec with brighter screens etc but the Active Tab 3 works well in general road riding and off-road too when fast road-book style navigation isn't needed. I picked up my Tab 3 for £150, the Ram Skin - a protective cover for the tablet, and the Tab-tite holder was another £55. I've also got a micro-SD card and a prepaid SIM installed so add another £30.
