Due to heavy rain and snowfall during practice as well as on race day, the 2020 EWS Zermatt shaped up to be a true mudfest. The race had to be reduced from four to only two stages and the Queen Stage had to be shortened to only half the original length. Two days after the final, once the track had dried up, I dared taking on a blind ride down the full Queen Stage... The riding turned out to be exactly as technically and physically demanding as I expected. Due to the heavy rainfall during the two days of the event, there were heavy ruts on certain parts of the track which turned out to be a challenge in itself. Fortunately, I survived this certainly exciting and thrilling ride without any injuries or damages to the bike :) I am riding a custom Trek Remedy 8 2020 with a 2020 RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork (with a DIY spray paint finish) in the front and a 2020 RockShox SuperDeluxe Ultimate (with MegNeg) shock in the back, Formula Cura four piston brakes (200 mm rotor in the front, 180 mm rotor in the back) and Maxxis Assegai (front) and DHR II (back) Exo 3C MaxxTerra 2.4'' tires. This was my first live commentary and since English is not my native language, there are some mistakes and wrong words in it. Let me know down in the comments if you liked my blabbering or if I should better shut up next time ;) I hope you enjoy the content and please leave a Like if you did so! Enjoy and ride safely!
