🌧️ Storm Chandra Hits the UK – Whitby Update 🇬🇧 🌧️ Storm Chandra, named by the UK Met Office, is the latest in a series of winter storms sweeping across Britain and Ireland, bringing heavy rain, flooding, strong winds and travel disruption to many parts of the UK today. Across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland there have been dozens of flood warnings, amber wind and rain alerts, school closures and transport interruptions as relentless rain falls on already saturated ground. In this short video we capture what Storm Chandra looked like locally in Whitby — and honestly, the biggest issue here has been the rain itself. As I publish this, it’s still raining heavily. 🌧️ 📍 Whitby conditions right now: 🌧 Heavy, persistent rain — standing water everywhere, more than anything else. 💨 Windy but not extreme — nothing crazy in terms of gusts locally. 🌊 Sea from the east slightly rough, but nothing concerning or dangerous. 🚶‍♂️ The real challenge has been water collecting on surfaces and making everything wet and wild rather than storm-force winds.
