Ranging from the impressive Ka 4-8-4 to a tiny bush tramway geared loco, twelve different vintage locomotives are seen hard at work from the footplate and the lineside on main lines, branches, and steam museums all set in breathtaking scenery with hill sections and dramatic coastal runs, including Australasia's highest viaduct. Memories of the former Fell system mountain line over the Rimutaka live on with an 1878 original loco set on rollers to demonstrate it's motion in a dedicated museum at Featherstone and we also include a rare film clip of the last trip on the line in 1955.
