He started forging at age 11 and studied the “Tools to Make Tools” curriculum under Alec Steele at age 13 in Norfolk, UK. Some of his noteworthy honours in forging include being a demonstrator at Canada’s national blacksmithing conference (CanIRON), a demonstrator for the Texas Blacksmithing Conference, and teaching a tool making class at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT College) at age 16. In his forging company, his clients range from beginner blacksmiths, to the Calgary Stampede, to B.C. Hydro. He also has a prime interest in antique equipment of all kinds and is a certified steam power engineer.
