SMC Built Jeep Wrangler 2.8 CRD - Remap Rescue on the Alive Dyno!

Nice Jeep! It really is, with the brilliant SMC having produced this beast of a Jeep Wrangler, as a custom comission for a certain Mr Dior. However, at some point in its life, it had been "remapped" and the current owner wasn't at all pleased with its dire fuel economy and seemingly poor response. Calling on the Remap Rescue team at Alive, we strapped this onto our dyno to see how the engine was performing, and immediately after the first dyno pull, it was obvious that someone had been tampering with its brain. The Bosch engine management on these cannot be remapped via the OBD port, and so the ECU was removed from the engine bay and we were then able to manipulate it on the bench. Indeed the engine calibration had been messed with, and we could immediately see why it was so bad on fuel, so we reverted it back to stock so as to give us a clean start going forward. A couple of hours later, with the ECU back in the car, we pick up back on the dyno and show how a properly thought out calibration change can make all the difference!
