This track had a fun genesis... I set out to make something rough and dirty with fucked-up, mangled and pitch-shifted hard beats and breakbeats... and at first, it was going alright. And then I added some nice harmonic pads. And then this bass progression. And then I realized that the drums really don't fit into it anymore - so I removed them. Funny how these things go sometimes! Anyway, I like how this one turned out. People always say, don't try to do polyphony in modular, to which I say: But I wanna! After listening back to the final take, I realized it was missing a bit of movement, so I pulled out the Osmose and recorded a little improv over it. I should do that more often... it's pretty fun to have the modular system as a giant, dynamic backing track to improvise over!
