Jefferson Wilderness is located in the Deschutes National Forest close to Sisters, OR. The Wilderness covers 104,523 acres and has 163 miles of hiking trails, including a 40 mile stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail. There are over 150 lakes, many stocked with trout. I parked at the PCT access parking area off of Hwy 20 at the Santiam Pass. From that point Booth Lake is about a 6 mile hike. The lake has several sites that would accommodate a tent, but I only found one designated site with a fire ring. The designated site is large enough for several tents. I did not try my hand at fishing on this trip and did not see any fish feeding activity at the lake surface during my overnight stay.
