The Porsche 911 Carrera T is one of our favorite versions of the 911, combining the light weight, manual transmission base Carrera with the turbo capability of the 911 Turbo S for what is (unfortunately) still considered a good value in the 911 lineup. The Carrera T is easy to upgrade, with little more than an exhaust, a tune, and some better breathing contributing to big horsepower gains in a rewarding driver's car. But what happens if you swap out the turbos in a 911 Carrera T, erasing some of the advantage the Porsche 911 GTS and Turbo S have over the 911 T? What we found is that it becomes quite easy to create a modern day version of the classic Porsche 911 GT2 formula: big turbo power in a manual transmission Porsche. The Porsche 911 GT2 and GT2 RS have always represented the absolute peak of Porsche 911 madness, with a "surely that shouldn't exist" type of swagger that sits atop both the modern Porsche 911 lineup and generations of the past. While we wait for the inevitable 992 generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which will no doubt be utterly bonkers in its performance, we set about building a 992 Porsche 911 version of the GT2 RS out of a customer's Carrera T. The result is a 700 horsepower fire breathing monster that somehow is still a ton of fun on track. And that's without enhanced aero and suspension upgrades, which will probably be next for is customer... along with a set of bigger brakes. If you're looking to take your Porsche 911 Carrera T to the next level, give us a call. We love telling Porsche stories and helping customers create builds that excite them.
