It features, among a zillion other great things, a range of the most common fuzz types to plonk anywhere you like in your signal path. A good old fuzz is a difficult thing to emulate accurately in the digital domain but Fractal Audio have made a very good go of it - good enough for me not to have to use extra pedals, that’s for sure. Here I’m demoing a few of them, along with a couple of old-school drives, in front of two classic Marshall sims: JTM45 (Normal Channel) and SLP1959 Jumped. Check it out. Presets? It is an early 2017 Music Man Albert Lee HH that has been my No.1 stage axe for touring ever since I received it. Two medium output humbuckers (I believe they’re related to the Axis DiMarzio Customs but they sound a little subtler to me), very light mahogany body, rosewood neck and fingerboard. It’s light, sings like a piano and if forced to choose it would probably be the first guitar I’d grab if the house was on fire. In fact, if I could grab two the SSS model would be the other one. But then I’d have to rush back in and grab the Palir’s, Smitty’s, Carltons, Fenders, Gibsons… Ugh. I’m doomed! I chose to use this guitar rather than a Strat or a Tele because I chose to use this guitar rather than a Strat or a Tele. So, should I shoot another video with a couple of classic Fender models?
