https://www.fractalaudio.com Following on from my previous two Axe-FX III videos demoing a couple of old-school Marshalls with some classic fuzz models, I thought it would be cool to do a similar exercise with cleaner amps such as the mighty HIWATT DR103 and a Fender or two. This video deals with the DR103, an amp model labeled 'HIPOWER' in the Axe-FX Firmware. This amp is said to be modelled from Cliff's own 1974 Harry Joyce era DR103. I think it sounds amazing. There are a half dozen Fane loaded IR's in the Axe-FX III current Firmware so I've divided the Cab Block into A & B Channels with a stereo mixture of two each - the video will tell the story. The guitar is a MIM 2012 Fender 'Roland Powered' GC-1 built primarily for use with the Roland Guitar Synths (another demo I'm yet to do). I wasn't keen on the pickups so Eric Smid sent over a set of his quite amazing Classic '59's (see: http://smittyguitars.com/product/clas...) and I had a set of HighWood saddles kicking around (see:http://www.highwood-guitarparts.com) that made the vintage-spec bridge even better. I always set up my Strats with Ernie Ball Slinky 10-46 along the Carl Verheyen guidelines (see: • Carl Verheyen: Whammy Bar Setup Secrets ) and it never fails. Oh, the preset? You'll find it at: http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/det...
