Blasting Through Budapest on the Quirky “Small Underground”

In this video, we travel through the Hungarian capital, Budapest, on the metro’s M1 (yellow line) checking out everything we can find both overground and underground across the Pest side of the city. We start at Mexikói út and travel on the “small underground” to Széchenyi fürdő, to explore Budapest City Park & the famous thermal baths, zoo, and botanical gardens. We then check out the stunning architecture of the Néprajzi Múzeum, before heading across for a walk through Vajdahunyad Castle and Heroe’s Square (Hősök tere). From there, we explore the oldest part of the line (Millennium underground) which runs along Andrássy Avenue, stopping off at the House of Terror, Oktagon, and Budapest Grand Opera House. Finally, we make it to the other end of the line, visiting St Stephen’s Basilica, Budapest Wheel, and finish up by the beautiful banks of the Danube.
