At Mars Petcare, we’re investing in the power of science and technology to help improve the quality of life of our pets by catching diseases early. To be able to prevent and even predict diseases, we need to have a better picture of what ill health looks like and what causes it. That's why we teamed up with Mars Petcare’s Global Data & Analytics team to build the Petcare Science Engine: a platform that enables us to analyse an increasing amount of anonymised and consented pet data from across our business. The Petcare Science Engine allows us to drive evidence-based research at scale. This means we can better understand what triggers conditions such as diabetes, mobility or kidney problems. It also helps us spot and analyse patterns in pets’ health much faster than ever before, and get a much more comprehensive understanding of a pet’s health.
