In Brazil, this oil is mainly transported to refineries by tank trucks, which can create environmental and safety risks if not properly managed. This study examines the impacts of transporting soybean oil and highlights the importance of cleaning tanker trucks to prevent contamination during transport. To address this issue, the study presents a truck washing and wastewater treatment system designed to safely clean tank trucks and manage the resulting waste. The system allows recovered oil to be reused for fuel production, treated water to be recycled for washing, and solid waste to be safely disposed of. This approach reduces water use, waste generation, and environmental pollution. The study also reviews transportation-related accidents involving vegetable oil and biodiesel, stressing the need to follow environmental and traffic regulations. Overall, the findings show that better transport and cleaning practices can improve safety and support more sustainable biofuel production.
