Day 15: Sunset at Flag Rock Bastion, Galle 28 January 2026

On my way back to the hotel, I stopped for an ice cream and then stepped inside the Anglican All Saints’ Church for a quiet visit. I spent a relaxing couple of hours in my room before heading out again to catch the sunset. As I walked towards Flag Rock, the best vantage point, I suspected I might be disappointed as the sky looked a little cloudy. Even so, plenty of people had already gathered, cameras poised, hoping for that perfect shot. At first, it looked promising. I managed to capture some lovely photos, especially the golden reflections shimmering across the rolling waves. But as the sun neared the horizon, the clouds swallowed it completely. My prediction was right - no dramatic sunset today. Never mind; there will be other chances. Feeling a little peckish, I wandered off in search of something light and found a restaurant that seemed just right. I ordered a prawn and avocado salad with a King Coconut to drink. It was simple, refreshing, and exactly what I needed.
