Traditional Irish Soda Bread☘️ (US and Metric) Recipe: 450g/1 lb/ (3 1/2) cups self raising flour 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda/bread soda 1 large egg organic/free range 300 ml buttermilk/sour milk 1 tblsp olive oil Method: preheat a fan oven to 200 o C / 400 o F or gas mark 6 for approximately ten minutes. sieve the flour and bread soda or bicarbonate of soda Into a large bowl and stir to combine. using a smaller bowl beat the egg olive oil and buttermilk together. making a well in the center of the dry ingredients, add half the liquid (you may not need it all ) and gradually add the rest to the dry ingredients, stir with a fork or a wooden spoon until it all comes together to make a softish dough, sprinkle a little flour on your hands and around the bowl to make the dough easier to work with and a little on the baking tray shape the bread with your hands into a round to about 4cm (1 1/2) inch thick. using a butter knife, make a deep cross on the dough, and place on the middle shelf. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 or 35 minutes until nice and golden and light, cool on a wire rack. Please Subscribe like and share and comment to my You Tube Channel..
