Tatra T4D in Dresden, Germany: Through "Elbflorenz" by Tatra trams | 2023

0:00 Intro 0:47 Tatra T4D trams on line 16 10:59 Ride on a Tatra T4D car Since the tram network of Dresden was unfit to operate the classic, widespread Tatra T3D cars, the transport company recieved 572 motorcars and 250 trailers of the narrower T4D/B4D class between 1967 and 1984. In the 1990s, numerous cars were modernized with a new thyristor drive control and a refurbished interiour. Though officially being dismissed in May 2010, several Tatra cars kept being used as reserve vehicles and for rush-hour service. Only in 2023, the last eight cars were finally scheduled for decommissioning. In April 2023, these famous trams served the line 16 for the last time, connecting the tram museum with the city center. In this video, we follow them on a round trip, passing by lots of famous sights.
