Papplewick Pumping Station is a magnificent example of Victorian ‘showcase’ engineering built in the 1880s, to supply fresh water to the population of Nottingham, England. Now a Scheduled Ancient Monument administered by a Charitable Trust, it is in steam on several occasions throughout the year. Recorded at their ‘Vintage Weekend’ in September 2019 and now re-edited and re-published, see the two steam powered James Watt beam engines in action and much more, including classic cars, miniature steam railway and underground reservoir. ‘Showcase’ engineering but only seen by a handful of operatives working the pump, as not open to the public until preserved.
