Nian gao, sometimes translated as year cake or Chinese New Year's cake, is a food prepared from glutinous rice flour and consumed in Chinese cuisine. While it can be eaten all year round, traditionally it is most popular during Chinese New Year. Steam Nian Gao Recepi Ingredients Nian gao 300g Shredded coconut 100g Salt as needed Method 1. Cut Nian Gao into finger size and place in a tray. 2. Steam the shredded coconut for 5 minutes and add a pinch of salt and mix well. 3. Steam Nian Gao for 15minutes and coat with the shredded coconut 4. Ready to serve. Fried Nian Gao Recepi Sweet potatoes 250g Yam 250g Nian Gao 300g [For Batter] Plain Flour 300g Sugar 25g Corn flour 30g Water 370ml Cooking oil 30ml Baking powder 1tsp Salt 1tsp Method 1. Use sweet potatoes and yam to make sandwich with Nian Gao 2. Mix the batter ingredients together until smooth and strain it 3. Heat cooking oil and deep the sandwiched Nian Gao with batter and deep fried 4. Fried until golden color and ready to serve.
