Five gunshot wounds. Seventeen groups of stab wounds. New Jersey's Acting Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Alex Zhang, took the stand and walked the jury through what he found when he examined Keith Caneiro and his 8-year-old daughter Sophia. Keith sustained five gunshot wounds, four to the head and face. Dr. Zhang concluded one shot was fired at contact range while Keith was already on the ground. Sophia's injuries spanned nearly her entire body, and the doctor identified multiple defensive wounds consistent with her trying to protect herself. Her carbon monoxide levels told the rest of the story. Paul Caneiro is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. He has maintained his innocence for more than seven years. The defense has not yet cross-examined this witness. ⏰ KEY MOMENTS 00:00 - Dr. Zhang takes the stand 11:36 - Qualified as expert in forensic pathology 12:38 - Keith Caneiro autopsy testimony begins 42:12 - Contact-range gunshot while victim was face-down 58:54 - Cause of death: multiple gunshot wounds, homicide 59:54 - Sophia Caneiro autopsy testimony begins 1:29:27 - Defensive wounds identified 1:34:05 - Carbon monoxide levels revealed CASE BACKGROUND REPORT: https://www.justiceisaprocess.com/can... 🎥 HOW JUSTICE IS A PROCESS COVERS TRIALS We present uninterrupted courtroom footage with public discussion in our live chat. This is where you watch the Justice Process unfold. Because Justice Is A Process and Works Better When We Watch. 📖 CASE BACKGROUND November 20, 2018: Firefighters found Keith Caneiro, 50, shot five times on his front lawn. Inside the burning mansion: his wife Jennifer, 45, and children Jesse and Sophia, all stabbed. The children died from smoke inhalation. Hours earlier, a fire broke out at Paul's home eleven miles away. Prosecutors call it a "ruse" to divert suspicion. The motive: Keith had discovered Paul stealing from their businesses and family trusts, and sent an email cutting off Paul's $225,000 salary the night before. Paul Caneiro, 59, has been jailed without bail for over seven years. If convicted, he dies in prison. 📂 PLAYLISTS & RESOURCES 🌐 Website: https://www.justiceisaprocess.com ► Live Broadcasts: • LIVE BROADCAST: NJ v.
