Smeg just announced a new coffee machine for home baristas that should be taken seriously. If you already like this brand, then you'll want to watch this. I've always admired ‪@SmegUKOfficial‬ beautiful designs - they definitely know their market. But when it comes to coffee machines, Smeg has never impressed me with their brewers, they just seem like over-priced, cheap appliances. However, their latest espresso machine, the EMC02 is changing that for me. I have to start taking them seriously as they have become serious about the home barista. I have to say from the outset, they are looking to compete with the already established Italian manufacturers and bring the traditional design into the modern luxury home. But is it too little too late? Or do they really have a shot at redemption? You'll have to wait to find out but I think they might just have a chance.
