SAMPLE 2's goal is to grow edible plants in an autonomous and remotely controlled module. This module would be placed outside a Moon habitat. The plants would then grow in a terraformed lunar soil inside the module while being protected from radiations. The team is using several kinds of bacteria to provide the lunar soil with the right nutrients and fertilisers for the plants to grow into vegetables.
