Tashi Delek! Today, I will share my day at Lake Namtso, one of the holiest lakes in Tibet. It was really a long day for the 36 miles round trip, under 5000 meters elevation. I started at 8 a.m. and finally reached my camp spot at 6 p.m. I biked about 10 miles around Lake Namtso to Mt. Elephant and hiked 8 miles up to the camping spot at 5,500 meters above sea level. Even for me, riding and hiking at an average altitude of about 5,000 meters is a challenge. However, the awesome scenery I could see from the top of the mountain was worth it. Overlooking the Lake Namtso surrounded by Nyenchen Tonglha mountain range from the top of the mountain and camping under the stars for the night, you can’t imagine what happens at the camp spot at 2a.m. Let’s see this amazing Namtso lakeside camping experience.
