Elcho Road House Fire in Wellandport (West Lincoln, ON, Canada) - 12/08/2025

Shortly after 7:30 pm crews from West Lincoln Fire Department were dispatched to reports of a "confirmed structure fire" on Elcho Road near Krick Rd in Wellandport, town of West Lincoln. While enroute to the scene Pump 1 advised that they had smoke and flames visible from a distance. First arriving crews encountered heavy fire conditions from the roof/attic-area of a large two-storey farmhouse. All occupants were safely out of the building. Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area tanker trucks shuttled water to the scene. Firefighters had initially fought the blaze from inside of the home until conditions deteriorated forcing them to transition to a defensive attack. The blaze was declared under control at approximately 11:45 pm. Mutual aid assistance was provided by Wainfleet FD and Haldimand County Fire & Emergency Services.
