#camino #caminoportugues #caldasdereis Our bucket-list trip in the spring of 2024. We walked the #caminodesantiago from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. From Porto, it is about 240 kilometers (150 miles) and it took us 12 days to complete. Follow our adventures and experiences in this 12-episode documentary. Today we walked from Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis. It is a fairly long stage of around 22 kilometres, with a mixture of sealed roads, dirt tracks and some climbs. The highlight of the day are the Barosa waterfalls in A Seca. Caldas de Reis is famous for its thermal springs, which have been used for their therapeutic properties since Roman times. The hot springs are rich in minerals and are believed to have curative properties. Visitors can enjoy the soothing waters at various spas or natural pools in the area. The Camino Portugues, also known as the Portuguese Way, is one of the various routes of the Camino de Santiago, a network of pilgrimage routes leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
