My last ride aboard MR-63 "Jeumont" element 041 from Lasalle to Guy-Concordia

The Jeumont 041 was a unique part of Montréal Métro's fleet, along with element 042, retired in august 2016 as the first MR-63 retired for the retirement plan. Equipped with prototype stage current chopper starters, built by Jeumont-Schneider (now Jeumont Electric) in 1971, it gave a glimpse to what would power the future models on the network, the MR-73s. A whole MR-63 train, consisted of 3 elements (040, 041 and 042) was used to test these starters, along with elements 010, 011 & 012, which had Hitachi prototypes. As the retirement plan started, the Jeumont elements were obviously at risk of getting retired quickly. 042 being the first to be retired, Jeumont 041 impressively lasted 2 months longer.
