RightStart, Asha’s annual teacher training program, was held from May 22 to 26 at the Vanavani Auditorium, IIT Madras. This event, conducted just before the academic year begins, brought together 170 Asha teachers from our projects in Thiruvallur, Thoothukudi, Thiruvanamalai, Thiruvarur, Chennai and other districts. The participants included Computer Science teachers, Karadipath teachers, Regular and RTC teachers, and trainers. Teachers from the Gandhiji school run by Asha Pondicherry also participated. Over four days, they underwent training in Maths, Science, Scratch programming, Stress Management, and Karadipath methodology. The first two days focused on Math training by Mrs. Meena Suresh, followed by 1.5 days of Science sessions led by Ms. Poorva Bhatter. The Science training this year also included showing something related to the Science concepts learnt through Scratch programming. This year, we also organized a session on stress management by Ms. Manimegalai. On the final day, Ms. Preetika Venkatakrishnan, COO and Head of Innovation at Karadi Path Education Company, conducted the Karadipath session. Anuj a noted story teller also engaged our teachers in the session. The event concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony where teachers showcased their talents through music and dance. Asha also took the opportunity to recognize and honor staff and teachers who completed 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service. Volunteers and coordinators took turns to talk about the invaluable contribution these staff have provided to Asha and the children we serve. A strong start to the academic year begins with empowered teachers — and that’s what RightStart is all about. #ashaforeducation #ashachennai #governmentschoolstudents #computertraining #nonprofitwork #ngoasha #ngo #ngoindia #chennai #computereducation #governmentschooltamilnadu #tamilnadu #IndiaNGO #digitalliteracy #chennai #thoothukudi #Thiruvallur #freecomputereducation #thriuvannamalai #villupuram #Thiruvarur #digitalliteracy #RTC #Thiruvannamalai #ruraltechnologycenter #codeorg #nammaschoolnammaoorupalli #PrimarySchoolSupport #middleschoolsupport #TeacherTrainingProgram
