I am excited to share my newest aquisition, my GoWiseUSA 10 quart electric pressure cooker with you! This is a powerhouse appliance that I will be using over and over again and you will be seeing it in future pressure cooker videos as well. Today I am making a delicious southwestern stew that I grew up eating in Arizona and it is one of my favorites. I am taking some help from grocery items to make this come together quickly but it is just as delicious as the traditional version. Making this in the pressure cooker helps get this on the table fast and easy, even on the busiest of days! I have been using it for a couple of months and have made everything from this pork green chili stew to rice, to hard boiled eggs to chili and pulled pork and a delicious chicken vegetable soup. This makes stock like nobody's business! This pressure cooker has all the features that you want in an electric pressure cooker. A saute function helps you to brown and sear in the same vessel as you cook. The slow cooker function helps you to use this like a slow cooker eliminating the need for an extra appliance. I also love the vast number of presets this machine offers. vegetables, rice, grains, porridge for oats etc., soup, chili, beans, meat and stew, canning, yogurt, eggs and steam. You can really do so much in this 12 in one pressure cooker! I am certain you will see more of this as time goes on. I plan on making some yogurt very soon! This unit also comes with a rack as well as two stainless steel basket/trays for cooking more than one thing at at time. I was able to cook six dozen eggs in this baby for Easter! It also comes with a rice paddle. This pork green chili stew is super easy to make and is so satisfying. I started out with a pork roast that I trimmed and cubed. I seasoned it very well and browned it on the saute setting of the pressure cooker. Added some salsa verde, canned, diced tomatoes and some sliced onions and garlic. That's it! On with the lid and under pressure for 35 minutes on the stew setting. This came out perfectly and the meat was super tender and delicious. I served this with some steamed rice and had enough left over to freeze for another meal later in the month. I love it when I can freezer bank a meal or two by making extra. This is why I love having a big pressure cooker. I may only have a family of four, but being able to cook for ten is a bonus when you can bank your freezer full of goodness. It also helps when church folks need a meal and I can just pull out something already done and heat it up and deliver with something home baked on the side.
