MANAV - The Human Atlas Initiative (https://manav.gov.in/​) presents 'Data Science - Webinar Series' Webinar Topic - The Analytical Challenges And Promises of Single-Cell Epigenomics Day/ Date: Thursday, 29 July 2021 Time : 4 PM to 5 PM Speaker : Dr Vibhor Kumar, Associate Professor, IIIT-Delhi Abstract : Single-cell epigenome is being used in few selected labs in the world. However, soon it could be adapted widely due to its promises. Being one of the pioneer labs working with single-cell epigenomes in India, our group has tried to resolve multiple issues related to its analysis. Compared to the fast degradation of RNA, the epigenome is more preserved in clinical samples. In addition, it is possible to extract multiple kinds of information from a single-cell open-chromatin profile. Such information not only helps in classical fundamental research but the translational application also such as predicting important targets for personalised cancer therapy. Here the speaker will give an overview of the efforts of his group to resolve challenges in the analysis of single-cell epigenome datasets and explorations that can change the way we look at this emerging methodology/technology.
